Riedell 265 Wicked Womens Derby Roller Skates 2010 Review

I'm using them for derby and it's my 3rd pair and the only one I've really felt was comfortable (Previously I used the Torq and Riedell 122). My feet are wide in the toebox and normally I would need to buy wide skates, but I can use these without ordering expensive custom skates. Anyway, for the price the skate, bearings, and wheels are the best in the range I've found. I was pleasantly surprised that the wheels are now my favorite (I've owned 6 pairs). The only bad thing is I'm skating at an outdoor painted hockey rink with them, so they will probably need to be resurfaced or replaced in a few more months. However, I guess since the wheels were basically free with the package I will just replace them unless I find anything better in the meantime.

Rollerblade Men's Fusion X5 Urban Skate Review

(More customer reviews)I just ordered 2 pairs of these skates, as I wasn't sure what size I would need. I am returning BOTH of them however because of 1 huge problem with them, that isn't clearly documented anywhere.

If you are looking into these skates, you are most likely interested in them for the same reason that I was. The Fusion X5 skates are said to come with a 243mm frame, with a max wheel size of 80mm. The shorter frame is one of the defining characteristics that sets these skates apart from most fitness/recreational skates, as it allows for faster turns, and makes these skates a decent choice for freestyle and slalom skating.

The problem with this is that the skate does NOT come with a 243mm frame, as they should. The frame on this skate is a 273mm frame, which should be on the Fusion X7's.. not the X5's.

The frame that you actually get on these skates will take up to 90mm wheels, which is great if that's what you want, but is a problem if you are like me, and wanted these skates specifically for the shorter frame.

The boot, and skate, do feel very solid.. to the point that they are fairly difficult to get on and off. They are very well made, and very nice looking. I'm sure this would a great skate, if the frame size isn't an issue for you, so I am still giving it 4 stars.

I did want to post a warning about this however, as it is not mentioned anywhere in the description, or in the other reviews.

K2 Moto 84 Mens Inline Skates Review

It had been about 3-4 years since I was on skates when I decided to take an afternoon out with friends to skate a local bike/walk/skate path. I wore these K2 Moto84's which were borrowed from a friend. I've always liked the K2 softboots as they are breathable and comfortable and these were no exception. The trip was about 6+ miles and my feet never felt uncomfortable. The skates are surprisingly lightweight, probably due to the softboot and lightwieght aluminum frame. Wheels and bearings were very smooth and quiet. Not the fastest ride Ive ever had, but very very good for sure. The boot is extremely comfortable and the speed lacing system is just awesome. No more tying laces, or re-tying when they inevitably come undone. This makes for very quick times when putting on and taking off your skates. Overall, this is a terrific skate and I'd certainly recommend it.

One thing to note...
The fit of this skate is a "true fit", which means you should order the same size as your sneaker. If you use Rollerblade brand (or Roller Derby), you should know that K2 runs slightly slimmer in the foot than RB and RD. Those brands have a slightly wider foot fitment.

(More customer reviews)I haven't skated in over 12 years, but became motivated after going ice skating with some friends.I tried on another pair of roller blades at sports authority, but realized they were much cheaper on Amazon.Anyways, the skates arrived fast.They are very comfortable.I feel like I'm wearing tennis shoes, high tops to be more specific.I found them to have a very smooth ride and they can go pretty fast.All in all...I'm super happy that I bought them and plan to use them for a long time.

(More customer reviews)This is a fun toy and the kids get a lot of amused looks when they ride on it.It works well when the conditions are right, and not at all when they are wrong.The "right" conditions are a flat and smooth surface (asphalt or concrete - doesn't matter) that is completely free of gravel or any any debris.Under those conditions, the design works fine.Just sit on it, start moving the handles, and the motion of the front wheels "magically" pulls you along.A little pricey for what you get and the limited usefulness, but it's a fun toy if the price doesn't matter and you have the right space to use it.(Let me emphasize again - if you don't have these conditions, you'll NEVER use it.)

I believe these would get a lot more sales if they were cheaper because I was about to buy a second pair until I got an email saying the price went up. But I do appreciate the fact that they support the breast cancer foundation and it makes me feel better that part of my purchase goes to them as a donation! K2 blades are my favorite now :)
